Greetings from Black Hawk Lake Protection Association
The COVID-19 pandemic has all of us re-evaluating what is truly important in our lives, like sharing the beauty of mother nature, close to home with family and friends. 12,000 years ago a glacier formed Black Hawk Lake. Natures gift to us.
We have a new website! Our new web site is your home for keeping up with all things to do with the efforts of Black Hawk Lake Protective Association (BLHPA). We intend to update this site frequently with news and actions for your involvement. Thank you for our participation in making our Lake better!
Our mission is to improve water quality and the recreational benefits of Black Hawk Lake.
We are a volunteer, non-profit 501(3)c group of future-focused residents, businesses, and organizations dedicated to the water quality of Black Hawk Lake and its watershed.
Membership dues have donated toward…
- $3,400 – Handicap access fish house in town bay
- $24,000 – Vegetation harvester to control excess aquatic vegetation
- $21,000 – Fish barrier structure for the Black Hawk Lake outlet
- $5,000 – Bio retention cells to reduce chemical run-off entering the lake
- $10,000 – Fish barrier & pump station separating Lake from Provost Bay
And we are proud to announce, thanks to the generosity of our membership; WE HAVE RAISED $200,000, for the planned future dredging of Black Hawk Lake!!!
